About.

I am a third-year architectural student at The University of Edinburgh interested in the multi-disciplinary field of architecture.

As a thoughtful, innately curious designer, my approach to design challenges is holistic, carefully combining and presenting my thought process, with research, physical and digital experimentation. Commended for my rigor, I was awarded the Technology Prize and Alexander Dowell Award for highest achievement in Environmental Technology and Architectural History.

I am recognised for my drive, ambition and ability to bring others along with me. I enjoy working collaboratively to achieve a common goal. I often demonstrate leadership in both academic and practical work.

My passion lies in socially conscious, community-focused design that minimises impact on the environment. This was something I explored whilst travelling to Fiji with CA.UK.IN Studio as well as commended for when I was the recipient of the Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners Scholarship 19/20.

Working in the Art Department on Netflix’s LBP The Crown, I explored the breadth of interior and exterior architecture, whilst tackling the challenges of working under time pressure and to budget. Having a background in performance led me to appreciate the effect of architectural design on screen and as the backdrop for entertainment. This background includes being a member of the Royal Opera House's Youth Opera Company and performing in a number of shows including for the World Heads of State for the 2021 Olympic Gala.

As Head Girl at St Paul's Girls' School I led a team by harnessing a group of highly intelligent, strong-minded individuals, to bring everyone together in a collaborative and purposeful way. Writing and delivering speeches, whilst leading events and committees, helped to effect positive change. This included running and organising a Joint Conference addressing the importance of positive gender relationships as well as organising visiting speakers (from Elizabeth Truss (Head of the Women's UN) to Michael Attenborough and Dame Barbara Stocking): briefing, introducing and summarizing their speeches whilst managing Q&As from the lecture floor.

Through the practice of architecture and design, my aspiration is to develop my knowledge and understanding to create places that better the lives of people who inhabit them. This will enable me to fulfill a deep-seated desire to contribute practically towards social and economic justice.
