Co-Housing Unit | A Novel Family Space
A Co-Housing unit for single mothers in Buenos Aires, Argentina
Second Year Project
In response to the particular vulnerabilities of single mothers in Argentina, I designed a co-housing unit to allow mothers and children to come together and live in harmony. I combined themes of flexibility, openness and private and public zoning to create a space where a new kind of 'family' could form as a novel safe and supportive community.

The modularity of the Argentinian cityscape lay in harmony to the thresholds and journeys I was mapping through the blocks, as the entire construction could be reconfigured to suit the needs of the residents. Paired with courtyards, a central garden and a creche situated below the residential levels, the architecture maximized comfort, connections to nature and relaxation.
